Myeiyo
Draft for legal review. These terms reflect how we operate today. Final wording will be cleared by counsel before public launch.

Terms of service

Last updated: May 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of Myeiyo, a chores-and-rewards platform for families. By creating a Myeiyo family or accessing it as a kid via a magic link, you agree to these terms.

We try to write these in plain English. If something doesn't make sense, email us at hello@myeiyo.app and we'll explain.

What Myeiyo is

Myeiyo is a tool for families to negotiate household chores in exchange for real-world rewards. A parent creates a family, adds their kids, promotes a wish to an active reward, and agrees with the kid on the chores required. The kid completes the chores and submits photo proof. The parent approves or asks for a redo. When all chores are approved, the reward is earned.

We are not a financial service, an allowance app, a gamified chore tracker, a babysitter, or an AI tutor. We don't process payments. The "reward" is something you (the parent) already buy or arrange in the real world.

Who can use Myeiyo

  • Parents and legal guardians 18 or older can create a family. By signing in with Google, you confirm you're old enough to consent to these terms and to provide consent on behalf of any children you add.
  • Kids can use Myeiyo via a magic link generated by a parent in their family. Kids don't agree to terms separately — their use is covered by the parent's consent.
  • You can't use Myeiyo if a court order, age requirement, or applicable law would make doing so unlawful.

Your account

  • Sign-in is via Google OAuth. Keep your Google account secure. We don't store passwords because we don't handle them.
  • You're responsible for everything that happens in your family on Myeiyo, including kids' submissions and any other parent you invite.
  • Multiple parents can manage the same family. Either parent can act unilaterally — invite, regenerate magic links, void rewards, delete the family. That's a feature, not a bug, but it means you should only invite parents you trust to act on the family's behalf.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Myeiyo to:

  • Harm, threaten, intimidate, or harass any child or person.
  • Demand chores that are unsafe, age-inappropriate, illegal, or that violate the kid's rights as a minor under applicable law.
  • Upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, or that depicts a child being harmed.
  • Attempt to access another family's data, exploit security weaknesses, or run automated scripts against the service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Myeiyo without our written permission.
  • Use Myeiyo for any purpose that violates a law or another person's rights.

If we believe you're violating these rules, we can suspend or terminate your access. For severe violations involving harm to a child, we'll cooperate with law enforcement.

Content you put into Myeiyo

  • You (parents and kids in your family) own the content you create: chore titles, wishes, photos, notes.
  • You grant Myeiyo a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the service to your family. We don't use it for anything else (no advertising, no AI training, no third-party sharing — see the privacy policy).
  • You're responsible for what you upload. Don't upload other people's photos, copyrighted material you don't have rights to, or anything else that would put you (or us) on the wrong side of the law.

Service availability

Myeiyo is provided on a best-effort basis. We don't promise the service will be available 100% of the time, free of bugs, or that all emails will arrive instantly. We do try hard, and we'll communicate honestly when something breaks.

We may change features, add features, or remove features at any time. We'll give material notice for changes that significantly reduce functionality you depend on.

Termination

  • You can terminate anytime by deleting your family in settings. After a 30-day grace period, all your data is permanently removed.
  • We can terminate your access if you violate these terms, if we're legally required to, or if we shut down the service. We'll give you reasonable notice except in cases of serious violation or legal compulsion.
  • On termination, the rights you granted us under "Content" end. Anything we're required by law to keep (audit logs of security events, for example) we'll keep for the minimum necessary time and then delete.

Disclaimers

Myeiyo is provided "as is." We make no warranties about merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any errors will be corrected.

Specifically:

  • We're not responsible for whether you actually buy the reward your kid earned. That's a real-world commitment between you and your kid.
  • We're not responsible for whether the chores you assign are appropriate for your kid. That's your judgment as a parent.
  • We're not financial advisors, child development experts, or family therapists. Myeiyo is a tool, not a parenting plan.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Myeiyo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Myeiyo. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to $100.

Some jurisdictions don't allow this kind of limitation; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You'll defend and indemnify Myeiyo against claims arising out of your use of the service that violates these terms or applicable law, including claims by your kids or another parent in your family if you've violated their rights.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and (when we're incorporated, which we're not yet) the state where we're incorporated. You agree to resolve disputes informally first — email hello@myeiyo.app and we will respond within 30 days.

If we can't resolve it informally, the rest is to be determined before public launch and will likely include a binding individual arbitration clause and a class-action waiver, subject to applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll email every parent with an active family at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Minor changes (typos, clarifications) we'll publish with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use Myeiyo after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
